Last Friday, the University of Malawi celebrated its brightest students at the Vice Chancellor's Awards and Executive Dean's List awards ceremony. Among the honorees was a young, talented musician, Amidu Monjeza, better known by his stage name, Ellani. The 23-year-old, who is in his final semester studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, received the Vice Chancellor's Extraordinary Award for his incredible musical talent.
Ellani has been making waves in the music scene since last year, gaining nationwide fame and earning nominations for some of the country's top music awards. His hit songs, like Udikirebe,Mwana Wanu, and Uwauze,have captivated audiences and showcased his unique artistry. Now, as he prepares to graduate in the coming months, Ellani has promised to release his debut album, much to the excitement of his growing fanbase.
The Vice Chancellor's Awards, organized by the University of Malawi in Zomba,aim to recognize students who excel not only academically but also in creative fields like music and art. Ellani's recognition is a testament to his hard work and dedication, proving that talent and education can go hand in hand.
